# HostelHound

> HostelHound tracks daily hostel dorm and private-room prices across cities on the backpacker trail, publishing price history, price calendars, and (for a subset of dates) price-drop forecasts.

- Prices are per dorm bed or private room, per night, recorded in US dollars. The currency selector on the site only changes display formatting.
- Data updates daily. Each city and property page shows a "last updated" date reflecting that page's most recent data refresh.
- Some dates include a price-drop forecast. We compare past predictions with actual results before showing "likely to drop." We do not publish exact probabilities.
