Getting around
- The free DASH trolley covers the peninsula from the Aquarium up to the Visitor Center on Meeting Street. Use it instead of paying for parking or a rideshare every time you move.
- Sullivan's Island beach is a cheap CARTA bus ride from downtown. Folly Beach is farther but also cheap by transit. Skip the pricier water taxis unless you're short on time.
- City Market on Meeting Street is worth a look but prices are tourist-level. For cheaper food, head a few blocks north to the upper King Street corridor where locals actually eat.
