Most budget hostels cluster on Nguyen Thien Thuat and the parallel side streets one block back from Tran Phu, the main beachfront boulevard. You get walking distance to the beach without paying the seafront hotel premium, and the street food and convenience stores are right there.

Getting around

  • Rent a motorbike from one of the shops on Nguyen Thien Thuat (a cheap daily rate) to reach Doc Let or Bai Dai beach. Both are far less crowded than the city beach and free to access once you get there.
  • Eat at Cho Dam (Dam Market) near the western edge of the center for cheap pho, banh mi, and local seafood. The same meal on Tran Phu costs two or three times more.
  • Po Nagar Cham Towers has a small entry fee and is an easy walk or short ride from the hostel strip. Tour desks bundle it into day packages that cost far more and are not worth it for this one stop.
