West End is where almost every budget traveler lands, a walkable strip of dive shops, open-air bars, and hostels clustered along the main road above Half Moon Bay. Sandy Bay, a few kilometers east toward Coxen Hole, is quieter and sometimes cheaper, though you will need colectivo taxis to get anywhere from there.
Getting around
- Water taxis between West End and West Bay Beach run frequently and cost a couple of dollars each way. Pay for the boat, not a beach club day pass.
