A few sit further down the hill toward the Salento road, quieter but a real uphill walk back.

- Filandia is the quieter, cheaper half of the coffee region's two famous towns. Willys jeeps and buses connect it to Salento in under an hour, so you can sleep here and hike Cocora from there.
- Coffee farm tours booked directly through a nearby finca instead of through an agency on the plaza cost less and run in much smaller groups.
